We are debating on either pouring a concrete patio or installing pavers. What are the advantages or disadvantages of concrete vs. pavers.
The advantage of pavers is that they move with the winters freezing and thawing of the ground. They can be individually replaced vs. jackhammering out large sections of a poured patio. They can also be picked-up and releveled without much trouble.

I have an abundance of shade in front of my house is there anything I can plant that will grow?
Yes, there is. There are many shade tolerant plants that require very little sunlight. Some examples would be andromeda, astilbe, hosta, and ferns.

We are thinking of installing a pond in our backyard, how deep should it be?
The average depth of a fish friendly pond is usually two feet. The key to fish survivability through the winter is to keep an airway hole through the ice to let gases escape.
